I also thought that Lucindaa valet Martin Ellicott was a delight. Into this licentious arena comes Antonia Moran, an innocent young woman, whose lack of protection makes her a prime target for the dissolute Comte de Salvan.

I was totally enthralled with the characters and their personalities. At a masked ball Antonia is dressed like a strumpet, and while the Salvans are arguing, Roxton whisks her away in his carriage.
It left me chuckling with the image! Lucinda is a terrific writer she is able to explain the characters, the place and the time with explicit detail. Preview — Noble Satyr by Lucinda Brant.

I really wanted to love it, but I didn’t. I like how she begins the story. There are differences, of course. What do I like about the book?
Her writing is absolutely exquisite, her stories grab you, wrench your emotions, then gently coax them back to a satisfied sigh. It’s appeal is great as anyone who enjoys a vast cast of characters, plots with complexities and wit and riddles and locations that literally spring from the page, are satr for a real treat.

ssatyr She questioned Roxton about some of his past and his comments allow the reader further insight to his arrogance and even his values about life. Elizabeth Kingston Narrated by: Confessions of a Dangerous Lord. Beneath the posturing and hedonism lies a seething hotbed of intrigue, deceit, and treachery. Roxton is in his late thirties, has been there, done that and got the T-shirt several times over; and while he is sensible of his responsibilities to his title and to his family, his general mien is one of aristocratic hauteur and ennui.
The amazing writing abilities of Lucinda Brant transport the reader to early 18th Century Paris and London- and what a voyage it is!!
Noble Satyr was about people who lived and loved during that period. The pairing of the dissolute Roxton with the much younger, innocent Antonia could have been the recipe for disaster but Ms Brant pulls it off brilliantly.
He has the full set of etchings framed and hung nbole his private apartments.

The reading was good, the only reason finished listening loved the voice. The Marigold Chain By: He is manipulated I know the word usually has negative connotations, but it’s lucijda the case here to save Antonia from a lecherous old creep.

He is such a funny character, so proud, and so righteous when it comes to the treatment of Antonia, and yet his command of English isn’t perfect, and I just love the way Lucinda wrote his character and how Alex performed him.
The villain s are properly horrible and the punishment is acceptable. Please review your cart. With her intended often preoccupied, Aslyn finds herself drawn to a handsome man who seems to understand her so well. I had trouble liking the characters.

I was a bit skeptical at first whether another author could live up to my idols fantabulous dialogue and OTT characters but Ms. It’s a story told poorly, because the characters aren’t organic and because the story is, in fact, poorly derived, but never mind that; feel the Brussels lace across your cheek, sip from nohle Dresden China; it’s little more than a Georgian seasonal village model that I wanted to unplug after the novelty wore off.
I brat consider myself to be particularly sensitive when it comes to this type of dialogue and some of it made me uncomfortable, although to be clear, it was mostly men making what would be considered base remarks about women and the sex act in general. The odds are stacked against the lovers — alone once more, Antonia is again vulnerable to the machinations of others, even as she continues to try to find a way to live life in the way she wants.

Laura Kinsale Narrated by: One might wonder why I’m giving this book five stars, considering some of my comments on Roxton.
