When he actually gets to know one, the thought of going enemj to the war and killing more Dracs sickens him. I remember watching the movie years ago and fully enjoyed the process of lessons learned by the mutual enemies. The original ending could have worked had it been made 20 years or so before, but audiences don’t often like that style of ending when there isn’t a major real-world transparent metaphor involved. A film produced six years later a film which unfortunately is hindered by poor special effectsthe exposure took the story beyond the book world and moved it into the attention of the general public. I didn’t remember the whole thing, though, and so this reading was delightfully surprising.
