His stories intrigue and infuriate me. Paul Auster’s mesmerizing eleventh novel reads like an old-fashioned ghost story. Lz, I didn’t enjoy this novel. I didn’t buy it that time, since it was a auater thick book and I didn’t want to lug it all day long while exploring Chartres. No twist, no impact, no nothing. Like I said, I don’t know what to say about this book. Trivia About Oracle Night. Aside from that story the main protagonist is also writing a screenplay for a timetravel movie and we meet two more characters and the thing is that at about half of the book none of them matter anymore as we start focusing on the writers tragic life and the stories he was writing are almost forgoten.

First we have the story of the main protagonist who is a writer, then we have the story that he is writing into his mysterious blue Portugal notebook in which we meet the main protagonis of that story who works at a publishing company which publishes books, so he has to read a book which brings us to the main protagonist of the story he’s reading Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account.
Guess I’m not an Auster fan. It felt like the author threw in as many things as he could to cover up his lack of a coherent story.

I don’t get what the aueter is with Paul Auster. Oracle Night is a narrative tour de force that confirms Auster’s reputation as one of the boldest, most original writers at work in America today.
For the next 9 days Orr will live under the spell of this blue book, trapped inside a world of eerie premonitions and bewildering events that threaten to destroy his marriage and undermine his faith in reality Paperbackpages.
Why would you put something supernatural in the book and than glance over it like that. I’m not sure what to think about this book.

Quiet and tempered – my first Auster, and I loved the style. Contemporary Ausetr English Language: Is it the same case as the sub-stories in the book — for one man A story within a story within a story, with intersecting characters.
This book was especially frustrating as the magic of the little blue journal is never explained or made explicit enough and dropped midway, just as the footnotes of background story about his relationship with his wife are dropped, making the book stylistically lop-sided.

The main character in the book Sidney Orr, walks the streets of New York, orafulo from a serious illness. Oracle Night by Paul Auster – 4 stars 5 23 May 20, Un pedigri Patrick Modiano. The same with an abortive story the protagonist, Sidney Orr, writes — it has a kind of foreshadowing function but it seems like showing off because Auster creates a modicum of suspense, at least, and then to have the protagonist just abandon the story is annoying.

Reading oraaculo was literally painful, like a novel churned out by an angsty teenager during a summer writing class.
This book promises so much in the first third, in the second third much of what you were expecting changes to an uncertain direction, and by the closing nothing makes sense at all.
I can not argue with that, but I wished I was reading the books the main protagonist is writing and I just got a little teaser taste of those stories that will never really be written.
