I swapped out the ignition switch, the relay, and the auto trans park relay. The drum that houses the piston is right behind the back cover. I assume I’d need a VW shop code?

If it started doing the same thing again, more than likely the problem is what i said before, cracked pistons. The 1 problem with this trans. With high pressure you will get rough shifts. Send a private message to CoolAirVw. It feels more like, there’s no fluid in the converter or something. Seems kind jatxo odd that it would work fine after the car started moving.

All times are GMT Why does it work fine when you reset the TCM? An electrical problem affecting the pressure control solenoid can cause high pressure, but this will not only affect She comes to pick up the car.

What is the TCM detecting? Originally Posted by tochtli83 That’s hard to say. With a little finesse, you can take the back cover off, drum is right behind the back cover, check the high clutch, if its bad the pistons are cracked.

I can look jstco up if you cant, just need year, make matco model. Send a private message to DrYankee On the bench its probably not an issue though, because gravity will hold everything down.

If you’re easy on the pedal, it will shift easily thru all the gears. Originally Posted by DrYankee Hello, just joined up how you doin? I was going to try to recode the trans, but I guess I need to login, and I don’t know how to do that.

Find More Posts by DrYankee To answer this, you will have to provide a scan of the TCM when your transmisison isn’t working properly.

Are you a newbie new to the forums. Are these problems are gone now, after the work you did?? Heres a closer pic. But, like I said, once jaatco going, the shifts seem much better.

5-Speed Automatic Transmission (09A)

The manual shows 3 speed sensors. I 09z say this due to the work required to get to these things. How does one check the resistance on the sensor?

I like this pic because it gives a visual picture of the “stand pipe” that allows you to check the level. Originally Posted by tochtli83 If you jam the pedal, it will go bonkers and shift like poo. I believe I have fixed four now in the past year.

So you get a once in a lifetime opportunity to change the filter! This would need to be accessed with the bellhousing on, sitting on the bench with the engine mating surface downward. Gone, but not forgotten. Originally Posted by tochtli83 When you begin to drive it, it feels like a slipping clutch. Im on shopkey pro, for its not showing any Audi A3, A4 maybe?

The output speed sensor g68 is the one under the gear. Last edited by felix; at If I remember correctly right there below the sensor is an O-ring that must be there to seal against the cover.

Originally Posted by bluesmoker exactly the same problem with our jatco, it turned out to be a faulty TCM transmission contol module the stealer replaced it under warranty. If you dont know, then clear the code and drive it again. I have the following problem and that turned my automatic from 3 to 4 gang rough.

This one could get a guy in alot of trouble if the clutch drums moved jatoc and you didn’t get them all the way back in. Make sure its in there before you put the cover back on. Regardless, I think the code appears the moment I put it in gear.
