I was able to understand her grief and fear of losing those she loved along with the love she felt so strongly for them. And why is he in trouble because of it? It ends way too abruptly. I am just not into paranormal books with angels. The drama just wasn’t played out in a compelling manner, and the relationship took me by surprise because it seemed so creepy at first!

It seemed almost effortless and I really admired it. A young man with golden planes of light on his back. Because I said so. Dark magnetism and intensity draws you into the most delicious debut! Also, the whole light and dark thing is extrememly vague and unsatisfying. She’s supposed to be special and strong and gifted, but all I get to read from her was whining and her being a brat. These Nephilim loved fiercely and deeply.
Gifts of the Blood
I can’t wait vicik read the rest of the series and meet more of the supernatural inhabitants of her hometown. Like the fact that, over the long years of my exile, I have developed a taste for human hearts. And then’-he looked up at the stars-‘I saw a girl with liquid silver, and everything changed. Excuse the mess that is this review.
Gifts of the Blood (Angel’s Edge, Book One) : Vicki Keire :
Caspia is beating and wearing herself down to support his sick brother, herself and her studies. She is fond of lost causes and loud music. Looking for beautiful books? What kinds of powers does he have? A war inside our souls and outside, about who will claim them. Honestly, I don’t know if I would go on with the series.
Because I said s I read this three days ago and it’s already fading fast. It created a sense of impending doom that helped with the story. One minute they’re talking rationally and the next they’re screaming and saying hurtful things to each other.
And Caspia also doesn’t become putty, mushy putty, with him. She spent tthe last decade teaching writing and literature at a large, football obsessed university while slipping pa Vicki Keire grew up in a 19th Century haunted house in the Deep South full of books, abandoned coal chutes, and plenty of places to get into trouble with her siblings.
So I’m going with 2 stars and leaning towards 3 right now since I’m left feeling largely dissatisfied. For me I felt that Ethan made life changing decisions a little too easily and another character Asheroth switched from bad guy to good guy with no real explanation.
Caspia is 18, a freshman at Andreas Academy of Fine Arts, she works in vickj local coffee shop and she cares for her brother who has terminal cancer. Stop glaring at me! I mean a girl that can draw pictures of the future — been done before, but I thought the author did that quite well, but the angels? Overall, a promising premise for a book that just wasn’t plotted in a unique or interesting way.
Just the two of us, whatever we were and whatever we were becoming, were in it together. This book seems off to me, but also very inattentive and awkward. While I liked this well enough, I don’t feel like it really went anywhere. Her only family is fading away every day. Nephilim and Fallen Angels, Demons and family, nothing is as it seems in this small town.
I really love Caspia as a heroine I think there may yet be much to this vicii and this book was just the foundation.

Often, the things that took place were either unrealistic and scoffable or downright nonsensical, especially in accordance to what the plot is actually supposed to be about. Strangers almost never come to Whitfield. When not reading and writing about all things paranormal, she indulges in her eclectic musical tastes, enjoys other people’s cooking, keeps vampire hours, and adds to her massive stockpile of quirky t-shirts and blank but designer notebooks.
Gifts of the Blood (Angel’s Edge, Book One)
There were underdeveloped ideas and cliche but those hardly matters for me anymore because at the end of the day what really matters is if you enjoyed the book, and I did, and that ending was all sorts of perfect!
If you are viccki paranormal YA angel series, then I would say give the first book a try.

The prose is refreshing and the plot very realistic. The storyline was just dull, and so unoriginal.
