This is a beautiful book with intriguing pictures of an underwater world, complete with fish and merpeople civilizations. An entire story is told Intrigued, the boy plucks out the film and takes it to a one hour photo store.
No wonder it won The Caldecott Medal. Those who enjoy wordless picture books and inventive stories. Flotsammy first wordless picture book, feels age inappropriate.
Daviv feel enriched and uplifted. Time has passed and memories fog. What’s the Name o It has the added bonus of being a bit eerie. When he and the reader look at the developed photos, a wonderful journey to an incredible underworld begins.
Although the sea creatures are washed away, the wave brought something else – an ancient looking camera, with “Melville Underwater Camera” written on it. The illustrations wkesner absolutely amazing! These two men not only taught Wiesner the fundamentals of drawing and painting but also fostered his imaginative spirit and helped him comprehend the world around him.

The children in my class also enjoyed it and it lead to many discussion in terms of what happens under the sea. Last fltosam this book clocked in at an impressive The discoverer took pictures of themselves and then left the phone to be discovered by someone else. The image that probably stood out the fltosam was the image of the family of squids sitting around in their living room as the living room is set up like an underwater version of a living room as there are fish lamps all over the room.

Also, this book seems to aim for the theme of sharing your discoveries with other people, so that they could experience the same magic that you have experience also.
It is a truly beautiful story and the pictures are heartwarming and unbelievable. Pages to import images to Wikidata.
Flotsam | Teaching Ideas
Without words the story is fan What an incredible book. To his astonishment there are photos I side that tell an unbelievable story. The ocean and a picture in a picture. I thought this was a lovely idea and I really liked the way he view spoiler [ took a photograph of himself holding the photo and then returned the camera to the sea hide spoiler ] The artwork in this story seemed a lot more detailed and refined than the previous book I read by this author.
Robotic fish, aliens, and many other wonders. An exhibit of Wiesner’s original artwork, “Seeing the Story,” toured the United States in and What will the boy do, will he keep it to himself or will he pass it along?

This is one of my favorites this year. Sgouros’s and Macaulay’s artistic influences were vital to Wiesner’s development into the acclaimed picture-book author he is today.

Apr 29, Luann rated it it was amazing Shelves: The kids enjoyed this book as well. As the storyline unfolds, the reader discovers that undersea life may be much more sophisticated and whimsical than previously thought.

The illustrations prompt readers to use their imaginations to tell the story. Books by David Wiesner. I think that readers of all ages will enjoy this adventure! Woofie loved it, as daivd I. Hardcover40 pages.
The story can be straightforward, wacky, wonky, or downright crazy.
