I was the one who brought up the subject. I had to start read it a couple of times, but when I got familiar with the peculiar jargon I really liked it.
The stories are pretty funny, and some are very short, so it makes for a quick read.

Viskovitz is an animal, literally. There’s a problem loading this menu right now. When I started it I thought it was great, very clev I picked this up in a charity shop purely because the cover looked pretty and it had an odd title. I flicked it open and read the Prologue: Preview — You’re an Animal, Viskovitz! The stories are usually hilarious, with an given who he is in each story absurdly astute and scheming protagonist – mastering a scientific language he should be nowhere near of comprehending. In focusing a lens of connective individuality on so many different vessels, Boffa achieves a collision of the ephemeral and eternal.
I’d especially recommend ‘You’re an Animal Viskovitz’ to all linguistic maniacs and those who’d like to enrich their vocabulary.

Boffa has a background as a biologist, and uses this to full extent as he hurls biology terms at high pace. There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Personally I didn’t understand half of them, but it makes the book a bit more bizarre and funny. Only now, some years later, Besta can trully enjoy all the nuances of witty word plays and chuckle at clever puns.
I won’t give away the punchline, but it had me giggling in the cafe at work which prompted questions that made me blush when I had to answer. He is always surrounded by the same collection of souls — his nemeses, Zucotic, Petrovic, and Lopez, as well as his two loves, Ljuba and Jana. This is an excellent collection of short stories which reveal more about the human condition through animals than most literature can achieve with thousands of words about human characters.
