His gift is in putting his characters in situations where they and you as the reader feel helpless in the midst of unsettling and spooky circumstances. I heard it was supposed to be the second of a trilogy – never fancied reading the third if there ever was one if this effort was anything to go by.

So of course i give the book 5 stars! I like humor mixed into the story but this was overwritten. The story descended into such dreary time-consuming nonsense towards the end that I convinced myself it couldn’t get any worse We appreciate your feedback. As always, though, I’ll keep reading his books.
This novel is about a man named Christopher Snow who has XP. A condition in which he cannot be exposed seise any kind of Ultra-violet light.

Nov 14, Scott Taylor rated it really liked it. Meaning throughout his entire life, he only goes out during the night hours and can know the night like someone who lives by day can never understand. To be honest, this review is only of the first 78 pages because that’s all the farther I could read.

I found Koontz’s more recognizable ‘Odd Thomas’ series to lose my interest beyond the first novel but still after two books I want more stories of the darkness dwelling Chris Snow and his dog Orson.
I seem to be either really hot or cold with Koontz books. Plus, the surfer lingo used between Chris and Bobby got old really quickly.
The group is faced with a building that keeps changing realities and times. Not enough interested me to want to read on or know more about the characters.

I haven’t flipped pages that fast or sat at my kitchen table oblivious to the rest of the world for that long in a long time. For not getting out of here. In case you’re too stupid to understand Snow’s uncertainity, you’ve got a whole foocking page explaining that to you. You must be willing to suspend your disbelief because he takes you where your imagination never went before, but like all his books, the premise of the craziness is grounded in science.
