This might especially be the case since the book was printed in so most of the work is current to With his second monumental insight, Einstein showed how Spacetime is warped and stretched by the gravity of all objects in the Universe and even punctured by black holes. Leading us gently and light-heartedly through the dizzying world of our space and time, he even gives us the recipe for a time machine, capable of taking us Back to the Future, to Alice’s Wonderland, or on a trip with the Terminator.
I thought I was in for a book written for 12 year-olds. However, as the book added on more and more to the base content, I was damn motivated to continue, just to see if I could wrap my head around each concept.
I was fascinated to learn that the entire area of wormholes, first developed by Kip Thorne, was initially prompted by Carl Sagan, who wanted to have some kind of plausible scientific basis for his novel Contact.
Enthusiasm to make everything understandable to the most untutored comes from every page. The tone is consistently good-humored, almost playful at times.
I actually read the digital version of this book while sitting in my College Library Yay! It’s still about how his wife doesn’t understand anything about physics. The book mmachines to make the ideas and theories of modern physics easily understood by anyonefrom researchers to students to general science enthusiasts.

Best introduction to Cosmic-Super-Physics you can get. The author seems to be a rather conservative physicist, which makes me wonder why he wrote the book jmi all. A great crib for furtive, refreshing use. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Al-khwlili got off to a very slow start.
