But this is highly dramatised and also the language used is aehok appropriate. Although often the most interesting and informative device about Banker’s re-imagined world, the dialog was sometimes either crass and laughable or just completely wannabe.
Prince of Ayodhya
Bridge of Rama Ramayana series. On one hand, as a professional review says somewhere on the Web, it does create a lot of atmosphere the novel which is one of its strong points, which is mentioned below. The story itself may be a great tale, but, if so, Banker isn’t the one to tell it.

This is probably what I enjoyed the most about the book. Ashok Banker, however, deviates from that. His Gods of War was released by Penguin in He is credited as having introduced Ashko mythology to a new generation of readers with works that have been described as “better written than many books in the genre that followed”, “well paced” and “breathes humanity into characters that most Indians consider deities. Ravana is a fearsome and an extermely powerful Rakashasa not some funny looking guy with ten heads and artificial laughter.

If you are willing to overlook Banker’s personal, flawed depiction of divine beings and ancient Bharata’s geography, or and if you want to read an epic can I say high fantasy without the fantasy? The couple settled in the neighbourhood tamayana Byculla in Mumbaior Bombay as it was then known.
John from the Bible, produced by Kelly ramaayana performed by Banker and other students at their high school auditorium, Hill Grange.
Queen Kaikayi and her ahok Manthara are characters you won’t forget, not to mention the devil king Ravana! I thought my sons who are growing up at USA can get to know this great Indian Epic and so ordered a copy. Jan 06, Sudhir rated it really liked it. We even have an ancient, near immortal wise man and sorcerer, the Brahmarishi Vishwamitra, who will complete the training of the princes and take them on a perilous quest.

The only reason I rated it as 2 stars because it is Ramayana. However, a neat package cannot really compensate for the content I must say I am a tad bit disappointed. The book ‘Revenge of Ravana’ is so full of convoluted theories that you need to read another 2 books to completely understand it.
When you portray the likes of Vasishta and Vishwamitra as the ultimate bad-ass wizards making Gandalf and Dumbledore look like 8 year olds in Halloween constumes, you certainly are going to attract attention from the young generation of readers.
What kind of literary novelty will he pursue to retell a well known epic? I was reminded of Hollwood movies and other fantasy series.
Kaikeyi is a self-centered, weak-willed woman constantly manipulated by her evil mentor — Manthara, who in turn is controlled by Ravana. For more, visit bit.

One of the most interesting novels I have ever read. I read the first 7 books and the series ebbs and flows through the story with battles, strategy and legends I grew up learning about.
