Was not a happy camper. While Katie had some consistency throughout the novel, Jenni had no clearly defined characterization and behaves in whatever way suits the author’s needs in the scene. Originally self-published all three books in the series are now being released by Tor US worlf fairly quick succession. Together they set off to find a safe place to settle and wrap their minds around what’s happened.

The tangible emotions in this story is a big part of why it’s such a chilling read. I am glad I read it but I don’t know that I will read any further in the series. As a woman with a taste for apocalypse stories, I went into this novel with high hopes.
